New Mexico First awarded Daniels Fund Grant
Grant will help support youth leadership program
Albuquerque, NM March 3, 2010 – New Mexico First announced today that it has received a $30,000 Daniels Fund grant to support its Tomorrow’s Leaders program.
The Tomorrow’s Leaders program engages young people in local public policy and government. Currently, working in three communities, the program teaches teens how to plan and facilitate a local youth town hall. These youth-driven events produce policy recommendations for local leaders.
“The grant will enable us to encourage and develop civic engagement among the next generation of New Mexican leaders,” said Heather Balas, President of New Mexico First.
The Daniels Fund was established by Bill Daniels, a pioneer in cable television known for his kindness and generosity to those in need, to provide grants and scholarships in Colorado, New Mexico, Utah and Wyoming. For more information, please visit www.danielsfund.org
